Common Maserati repairs we handle
- 3.0 twin-turbo V6: oil leaks at the valve covers and turbo oil lines, ignition coils, spark plugs, boost leaks and cooling faults on the Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte.
- 3.8 twin-turbo V8 in Trofeo and GTS models: turbo service, ignition and coolant leaks.
- 4.2 and 4.7 V8 in the GranTurismo, GranCabrio, Coupe and Spyder: cam variator noise, oil leaks and scheduled service.
- Transmissions: ZF 8-speed fluid service on sedans and SUVs, ZF 6-speed in the GranTurismo, and clutch work on Cambiocorsa and MC Shift gearboxes.
- Suspension: Skyhook adaptive dampers, Levante air springs and compressors, control arms and bushings, and alignment.
- Brakes: pads, rotors, sensors and fluid. Maserati brakes wear quickly in city traffic.
- Electrical: battery drain, infotainment, keyless entry, sensors and module faults.
- Cooling and A/C: radiators, water pumps, thermostats and compressors.
- Newer models: Grecale mild hybrid, the MC20 Nettuno V6 and Folgore electric models for brakes, tires, suspension and 12-volt systems.

What the Florida climate does to a Maserati
Maserati engine bays are tight, and the twin-turbo V6 sits close to its turbochargers. Broward heat adds to that, so valve cover gaskets and turbo oil line seals harden and seep sooner. A burning oil smell after a drive down Federal Hwy is often the first clue.
Heat and humidity are also rough on Maserati electronics. Batteries weaken quickly in summer, and a marginal battery shows up as a string of random warnings. Many Ghiblis and Quattroportes in Fort Lauderdale see short trips with long A/C use, which keeps the charging system under steady load.
Suspension rubber ages in the sun as well. Levante air springs and Skyhook damper bushings crack, and cars parked near the beach pick up corrosion on brake hardware from the salt air. We check all of these during every service.
Signs your Maserati needs a visit
- A burning oil smell after a drive, often a valve cover or turbo line seep.
- Several unrelated warnings at once, which often starts with the battery.
- A rough idle or misfire under load from a failing ignition coil.
- A knock over bumps, or a Levante that sits low after parking.
Catching these early keeps repairs smaller and keeps the car on the road.
