Common MINI repairs we handle
- Oil leaks: oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket, which can drip onto belts and the exhaust.
- Cooling system: water pump, thermostat housing, expansion tank and coolant hoses. These plastic parts wear quickly in South Florida heat.
- Timing chain and tensioner on 2007–2013 Cooper S and JCW models with the N14 and N18 engines.
- Carbon buildup on direct-injection intake valves, which causes misfires and rough idle.
- Turbo and boost faults: wastegate rattle, boost leaks and turbo oil line seeps on Cooper S and JCW engines.
- Clutch and transmission: manual clutch replacement, automatic fluid service and shift complaints.
- Electrical and coding: battery registration, window and lock faults, key programming and module coding with BMW ISTA.
- Suspension and steering: control arm bushings, strut mounts, electric power steering faults and alignment.
- Brakes, A/C and scheduled maintenance, including Condition Based Service resets.

Looking after a MINI in Broward
A MINI packs a turbo engine into a very small engine bay. Heat has nowhere to go, so gaskets, hoses and plastic coolant parts age faster here than in cooler states. A drive on A1A with the A/C on full, then a long wait at the Sunrise Blvd drawbridge, is a hard workout for the cooling fan and water pump.
Oil matters on a MINI. The turbo bearings and timing chain both depend on clean oil, and the N14 and N18 engines are known to use some oil between changes. We check the level and look for leaks on every visit, and we use BMW-approved oil.
Low-profile tires and firm suspension also take a beating on local roads. Potholes after summer storms bend wheels and wear strut mounts and control arm bushings. A clunk over bumps or a car that pulls to one side usually means it is time for a suspension check and an alignment.
Signs your MINI needs a visit
- A rattle for a few seconds on a cold start.
- A burning oil smell after a drive, often the oil filter housing gasket.
- A coolant warning or a sweet smell near the front of the car.
- Flickering lights or random warnings, which often start with a weak battery.
What to expect on your visit
- Visit either shop or send an estimate request with your MINI’s year and model.
- ISTA scan and photo inspection of the problem and the key wear items.
- Written estimate on your phone, with urgent repairs separated from ones that can wait.
- Repair with OEM or OE-equivalent parts after you approve, backed by our 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty.
