Cooper City sits in southwest Broward, just south of Davie, so the trip to our Fort Lauderdale shop is mostly highway. We don’t have a shop in Cooper City; we serve Cooper City drivers at our Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park shops. From the Stirling Road and Palm Avenue area it is about 18 miles.

• North to I-595: take Flamingo Road, Pine Island Road or University Drive north to I-595, then east past the airport interchange to I-95 north.
• I-95 north to Sunrise Boulevard: exit at Sunrise Boulevard, head east past Andrews Avenue, and turn south onto NE 4th Avenue. The shop is just below Sunrise in Flagler Village.
• East Cooper City alternative: Griffin Road or Stirling Road east to I-95, then north to the Broward Boulevard exit. Head east into downtown and north on NE 4th Avenue.

Making an 18-mile trip worth it

Because Cooper City is a real drive from either shop, it helps to plan each visit so one trip covers everything the car needs.

Cooper City is a suburb of quiet residential streets connected to the rest of the county by I-595, I-75 and Florida’s Turnpike. Most cars here split their time between school runs on Stirling Road and long highway commutes. That shows up in a few places:

• Tires and alignment. Highway miles plus heavy family SUVs wear tires faster than owners expect. Cupped or feathered tread usually points to alignment or worn suspension parts. See tires and wheel alignment.
• Brakes. School pickup lines and the lights on University Drive and Pines Boulevard keep brakes busy, and heavy SUVs with electronic parking brakes need a scan tool to service correctly.
• Heat. Batteries, A/C compressors and cooling systems all age faster in South Florida heat. A battery that cranks slowly in August is near the end.
• Storm water. Cooper City is laced with lakes and canals, and some streets hold water after heavy summer storms. If you drove through deep water, have the car checked before electrical faults or fluid contamination spread.
