Updated

North Miami Beach drivers who want auto repair from a European, exotic and EV specialist use the Prestige Auto Repairs & Tires shop at 930 NE 4th Ave in Fort Lauderdale, about 18 to 20 miles north on I-95. We have no North Miami Beach location. Fort Lauderdale is open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 7 PM; on Sunday, our Oakland Park shop is open.

Closest shop: Fort Lauderdale

Prestige Auto Repairs & Tires has no shop in North Miami Beach. We serve North Miami Beach drivers at our two Broward shops, and the Fort Lauderdale shop at 930 NE 4th Ave is the closer one, about 18 to 20 miles north depending on where you start.

  • I-95 north. From NE 163rd Street or NE 167th Street, head west to I-95 and go north past the Ives Dairy Road and Hallandale Beach Boulevard exits, through Hollywood and Dania Beach, to the Sunrise Boulevard exit in Fort Lauderdale. Head east, then turn south onto NE 4th Avenue.
  • Miami Gardens Drive. From the north side of the city near NE 183rd Street, Miami Gardens Drive runs west to I-95 as well.
  • US-1 (Biscayne Boulevard) north. From Biscayne Boulevard through Aventura, where it becomes Federal Highway, then north through Hallandale Beach, Hollywood and Dania Beach. Slower, but it keeps you off I-95 if the car is running hot or a warning light is on.

Shop address: 930 NE 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, (954) 562-8045. Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 7 PM, closed Sunday. On Sunday, our Oakland Park shop at 250 NE 44th St is open 8 AM to 7 PM. Oakland Park also has a 24-hour lot with a key drop box at the front door, and we call you in the morning.

North Miami Beach areas we serve

The NE 163rd Street and NE 167th Street corridors, Eastern Shores on the bay, the neighborhoods around the Ancient Spanish Monastery off West Dixie Highway, the area near Oleta River State Park, and the streets between Biscayne Boulevard and I-95. Drivers from nearby Ojus, Highland Lakes and North Miami use the same routes.

What North Miami Beach driving does to a car

North Miami Beach is a busy, mostly inland city cut by two of the heaviest east-west roads in north Miami-Dade, with Biscayne Bay on its east edge.

  • Stop-and-go on 163rd and 167th. Long stretches of traffic lights, shopping center lots and heavy traffic wear brakes, transmissions and engine mounts. Automatic transmissions on high-mileage cars start to shift harshly or slip. See transmission repair.
  • I-95 and the Golden Glades. Commuters who head south through the Golden Glades interchange or north into Broward spend a lot of time idling in heat. That is hard on cooling systems, A/C compressors and batteries.
  • Check-engine lights. EVAP leaks, oxygen sensors, misfires and catalytic converter codes are common on cars that do short, hot trips. We find leaks with a smoke test and confirm the cause before replacing parts. See check-engine light diagnostics.
  • Bayside salt and flooding. Eastern Shores and the streets near the bay see salt air and, during king tides and summer storms, standing water. If the car went through deep water, have it inspected before driving it hard.

Cars we work on

Every make: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche, Range Rover, Volvo, Tesla, Rivian, Lucid and exotic brands, plus the Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Ford and Chevrolet cars that fill North Miami Beach driveways. Factory-level diagnostic software for the European brands means coding, adaptations and resets are done the way the manufacturer intends.

Common jobs for North Miami Beach drivers:

  • Brakes, rotors, suspension and alignment
  • Transmission diagnostics and fluid service
  • A/C repair and coolant leak repair
  • Batteries, starters, alternators and electrical faults
  • Body and paint in house, with claim help
  • Pre-purchase inspections before you buy a used car
