Why Miami Beach owners drive north
Prestige Auto Repairs & Tires does not have a shop in Miami Beach or anywhere in Miami-Dade County. We serve Miami Beach owners at our two Broward shops. At roughly 22 to 30 miles, we are not the nearest garage to the island, so owners who make the trip do it for a reason: they want a European, exotic or EV specialist with factory-level diagnostic tools, photos of every finding and a written estimate before anything is touched.
The Fort Lauderdale shop, at 930 NE 4th Ave, is the southern of our two shops and the usual choice for Miami Beach owners. Routes north:
- South Beach and the west side: the MacArthur Causeway (I-395) to I-95 north, or the Venetian Causeway to Biscayne Boulevard and then I-95. Stay on I-95 into Broward and exit at Sunrise Boulevard, then head east and south onto NE 4th Avenue.
- Mid-Beach: the Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-195) west to I-95 north, then the same Sunrise Boulevard exit.
- North Beach and Normandy Isles: Collins Avenue (A1A) north through Surfside, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles Beach and Golden Beach to Hallandale Beach, then Hallandale Beach Boulevard west to I-95 north. The JFK Causeway (71st Street) to I-95 is the other way off the island.
Shop address: 930 NE 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, (954) 562-8045. Open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 7 PM, closed Sunday. On Sunday, our Oakland Park shop at 250 NE 44th St is open 8 AM to 7 PM.
If you’d rather not make the drive, we offer concierge pickup and delivery from our shops. Call the Fort Lauderdale shop to ask about it for your address.
Miami Beach or Aventura?
This page is for owners on the island itself. If you live in Aventura, Brickell, downtown Miami or elsewhere on the mainland, see European and exotic car repair for Miami and Aventura. Owners just north on the barrier island can see Sunny Isles Beach.
Miami Beach neighborhoods we serve
South Beach from South Pointe up through Flamingo Park and the Lincoln Road area, Sunset Harbour, West Avenue and the Alton Road corridor, the Venetian Islands, Star Island and the Sunset Islands, Mid-Beach along Collins Avenue and Indian Creek Drive, La Gorce and Nautilus, North Beach, and Normandy Isles. Many of these homes and towers have valet or garage parking, which matters for how cars wear.
What Miami Beach does to European and exotic cars
- Salt air everywhere. No part of Miami Beach is far from salt water. Brake calipers, rotors, suspension bolts, wheel studs, exhaust hangers and underbody fasteners corrode faster than on the mainland. We inspect these on every visit and photograph what we find.
- Flooding and king tides. Low streets in Sunset Harbour, along West Avenue and Alton Road, and in parts of North Beach take on water during heavy rain and the year’s highest tides, even with the city’s pumps and raised roads. Salt water in a modern European car can damage control modules, wiring, wheel bearings and brakes, and the faults may appear weeks later. See flood-damaged car repair.
- Garages and valet. Cars that sit for weeks in a building garage come back with flat batteries and stored fault codes. Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Rolls-Royce models draw power while parked, and some need a reset with diagnostic software after a low-voltage event. Steep garage ramps scrape splitters and valet use curbs wheels.
- Heat and short trips. Stop-and-go on Alton Road, Collins Avenue and the causeways in summer works cooling systems and A/C hard, and short trips never let the engine oil fully warm up.
