Oil changes at the Oakland Park shop
An oil change is the visit most drivers make most often, so we keep it simple at our Oakland Park shop. Pull in at 250 NE 44th St, Oakland Park, FL 33334, any day of the week from 8 AM to 7 PM. No appointment is needed, our service advisors speak English and Spanish, and you can call ahead at (954) 303-0758. The lot stays open around the clock with a key drop box, so the car can come in before work and wait for us.
What every oil change includes
- Synthetic or synthetic-blend oil that meets the specification printed in your owner’s manual, poured to the capacity of your engine
- A new oil filter and, where the car uses one, a new drain plug washer torqued to spec
- Oil level check with the car’s electronic sensor on models without a dipstick
- Service reminder reset, including the BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi systems that need a scan tool
- Photo inspection of tires, brakes, belts, hoses, fluids, wipers, lights and battery, sent to your phone
- Engine and cabin air filter check, with photos if either is dirty
If the inspection finds anything else, you get a written estimate with photos. You decide what gets done and when.
Synthetic oil by maker specification
Modern engines are built around a specific oil approval, not just a viscosity number on the bottle. Turbochargers, timing chains, variable valve timing and diesel particulate filters all depend on it. We match the oil to the approval your engine calls for.
| Make | Common oil specifications |
|---|---|
| GM: Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Buick | dexos1 Gen 3 for gasoline engines |
| Ford and Lincoln | The Ford WSS-M2C specification listed for your engine |
| Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram | Chrysler MS-6395 for most gasoline engines |
| Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda | API SP / ILSAC GF-6 oil in the grade listed, often 0W-20 or 0W-16 |
| Mercedes-Benz | MB 229.5, MB 229.51 or MB 229.52 on diesels, MB 229.71 on many newer engines |
| BMW and MINI | BMW Longlife-01 (LL-01), LL-01 FE, or LL-17 FE+ on newer engines |
| Volkswagen and Audi | VW 502 00, VW 504 00 / 507 00, or VW 508 00 / 509 00 on newer engines |
| Porsche | Porsche A40, or C40 on newer models |
If you are not sure what your car takes, bring it in. We look up the approval by your VIN and show you the oil before it goes in. Our European oil change page has more detail on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, Porsche and Land Rover engines.
Engine air filter and cabin air filter replacement
Your car has two air filters, and both work hard in Broward.
Engine air filter. Every breath the engine takes passes through it. Dust from construction along the main roads, pollen in spring and sand near the beach clog it over time. A dirty filter can cut power slightly and makes the mass airflow sensor work in dirtier air. We show you the filter next to the light so you can see how much is blocked.
Cabin air filter. This one cleans the air you breathe and protects the A/C evaporator. In South Florida humidity it can turn damp and musty, which is often the smell you notice at start-up. A clogged cabin filter also makes the fan sound loud while moving little air. If the smell or weak airflow continues after a new filter, our car A/C repair team in Oakland Park can check the evaporator and drain.
Car tune-up service
A modern tune-up looks different from the ones of the past, because there are no points or carburetors to adjust. Today a tune-up at our Oakland Park shop means checking and replacing the parts that wear out on a schedule:
- Spark plugs, often long-life iridium plugs replaced at the interval in your maintenance schedule
- Ignition coils and boots, tested when there is a misfire or a rough idle
- Throttle body cleaning on engines that build up carbon and idle unevenly
- PCV valve and hoses, a common source of vacuum leaks and oil use
- Fuel filter on cars that still have a serviceable one
- A scan for stored and pending codes, so small faults are caught before the check-engine light stays on
If your car has a misfire code, poor fuel economy or hesitation, we diagnose the cause first rather than replacing parts by habit.
Auto maintenance service and factory schedules
Every maker publishes a maintenance schedule, and we follow it: BMW Condition Based Service, Mercedes-Benz Service A and B (see our Mercedes Service A and B page), the Maintenance Minder on Honda and Acura, Toyota and Lexus intervals, and the schedules for Ford, GM, Stellantis, Hyundai, Kia and others.
Beyond oil and filters, a full maintenance visit can include:
- Brake fluid flush at the maker’s time interval
- Coolant replacement with the correct type for your engine
- Transmission fluid service where the maker calls for it
- Battery test, since South Florida heat is hard on batteries
- Tire rotation and tread depth readings
Most owner’s manuals list a “severe service” schedule. Short trips, stop-and-go traffic and high heat all count, and most Oakland Park driving fits that description. We talk through which schedule makes sense for how you drive, and give you a reminder by both time and mileage.
After the oil change
You get a dated invoice listing the oil brand, specification and filter, which keeps your maintenance record complete for warranty and resale. Repairs carry our 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty, and our technicians are ASE-certified and factory-trained.
How to find us
The shop sits on NE 44th Street, a short block east of Andrews Avenue, between Oakland Park Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard. From I-95, take either exit and drive east toward Andrews.
