Closest shop: Fort Lauderdale
North Miami runs from NE 119th Street up to NE 163rd Street, between NW 17th Avenue and Biscayne Bay. Our Fort Lauderdale shop at 930 NE 4th Ave, in Flagler Village near Sunrise Boulevard, is about 15 to 20 miles north.
- I-95 north: take NE 125th Street or NE 135th Street west to I-95, then north through the Golden Glades, Hollywood and Dania Beach to the Sunrise Boulevard exit. Head east and turn south onto NE 4th Avenue.
- Biscayne Boulevard north: US-1 runs through Aventura, where it becomes Federal Highway, then north through Hallandale Beach, Hollywood and Dania Beach. It is slower but keeps you off I-95 if the car is running hot or a warning light is on.
- Sundays: the Fort Lauderdale shop is closed. Stay on I-95 a few exits further to Commercial Boulevard or Oakland Park Boulevard for our Oakland Park shop, open 7 days.
Fort Lauderdale shop: 930 NE 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, (954) 562-8045.
North Miami areas we hear from
Drivers come to us from the NE 125th Street downtown, the West Dixie Highway and NE 6th Avenue corridors, the neighborhoods along NW 7th Avenue, the bayfront streets of Keystone Point and Sans Souci, and the area around the FIU Biscayne Bay campus, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Oleta River State Park.
What North Miami driving does to a car
- Salt air on the bay: cars parked near Biscayne Bay see salt in the air every day. It corrodes brake hardware, battery terminals, exhaust clamps and the undercarriage. We photograph corrosion during the inspection so you can see it.
- Corridor traffic: NE 125th Street, NE 135th Street and Biscayne Boulevard are slow, stop-and-go drives. That heats brakes, A/C compressors and cooling systems, and it drains batteries in summer.
- I-95 and the Golden Glades: commuting north into Broward or south into Miami means long idles in heat. A temperature gauge that rises in traffic or A/C that turns warm at a standstill is worth checking early.
- Flood season: summer storms can put water into low streets. If a car has been through deep water, see flood-damaged car repair before driving it far.
