From North Lauderdale to our Oakland Park shop
North Lauderdale sits in the middle of north-central Broward, between Tamarac, Margate and the Florida’s Turnpike corridor. The closer of our two shops is Oakland Park, about 7 to 9 miles east depending on where in the city you start.
- McNab Road east: cross US 441 and Florida’s Turnpike on the overpasses. McNab becomes NW 62nd Street and then Cypress Creek Road, which runs along the north side of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport to I-95 and Andrews Avenue. Turn south on Andrews and look for NE 44th Street, just east of Andrews.
- Commercial Boulevard east: from the south side of the city, drop down to Commercial Boulevard and stay on it to Andrews Avenue.
- From Kimberly Boulevard or Rock Island Road: both feed onto McNab Road, which is the most direct way east.
Shop address: 250 NE 44th St, Oakland Park, FL 33334, (954) 303-0758. Short on time? Ask about concierge pickup and delivery.
What North Lauderdale driving does to a car
Most cars here live on a few busy corridors: McNab Road, Bailey Road, SW 81st Avenue, US 441 and the Turnpike. That means short trips, stop-and-go traffic and long idles in Florida heat, which wear the same parts again and again.
- Brakes: stop-and-go on McNab and US 441 heats pads and rotors. A squeal, a grinding noise or a pulsing pedal is the usual sign. See brake repair.
- A/C: compressors and condensers work hardest in traffic at midday. If the air is cool on the highway but warm at lights, it is often a fan or a low charge from a slow leak. See car A/C repair.
- Cooling systems: idling in summer heat finds weak radiators, water pumps and hoses. A temperature gauge that creeps up in traffic is worth checking before it overheats.
- Batteries: heat shortens battery life in South Florida. A slow crank on a hot morning is worth a battery and charging test before it leaves you stuck.
Every make, from the family SUV to the weekend car
North Lauderdale driveways hold everything: Camrys and CR-Vs, Silverados and Wranglers, Altimas and Elantras, plus BMWs, Mercedes-Benz and Teslas. We service all of them with the right scan tools and the right fluids for each make, and we explain the repair in plain words.
If your check engine light is on, we read the codes, run the tests behind them and show you what failed before anything is replaced. See check engine light diagnostics.
